Dahlia flower consists of many delicate petals that surround a central core known as the yellow capitulum or flower heads. Dahlias can be grown in different shades of white, yellow, orange, red, pink and purple. Dahlias originated as wild flowers in the highlands of Mexico and Guatemala. This is why they naturally work well and happily blooming into the cool autumn wind. Dahlia flower season starts in early spring and continues at the beginning of autumn in the summer. It’s easy to find a professional pre-grown dahlias in pots for seedlings in garden centers. You can transfer them into a decorative pot or in the garden in late summer. Dahlias are native to Mexico, where they have been cultivated for centuries. From there they went to the conquistadors to Spain, who sent flower seeds in Madrid, along with other plant seeds and grow vegetables were discovered in the course of their research. Dahlia got its name by a botanist and director of the Royal Garden of Madrid, Antonio Jose Cavanilles, whose name the flower after another botanist, Anders Dahl.
