150 pages of faceless profiles made, these need to be in

Hi Guardian,

I have observed over a 150 pages of mainly faceless profiles made today and looking at their names (all males), number and letter combinations, they are obviously being made by the same person.
One has to question why one person would have the need to construct so many profiles (I stopped at page 150, there might be many more). I can come up with with one explanation, that being they are being used to fraud the voting system in the Competitions (The Red Carpet perhaps)?
Is there any way that the Bliingee Team could look into this ?
This is just 3 pages of them.
Thank you Guardian.

This is only 3 pages out of 150 pages that I looked at.

I went and looked and went on the last page to see if usernames like this showed up and it did and every random page I clicked on also showed faceless profile and usernames like you described. This person made a ton of accounts.. I wouldn't be surprised if they were being used for competitions but I'm going to try and watch the winners of a few competitions for a few weeks and see if the same person wins unless the accounts get taken down by then.

This has been an ongoing issue. I can tell you that the Blingee_Team is working on it. I had checked this out quite a while ago. A lot of them look like they are trying to promote some site that they may be working for. Maybe like some type of at-home work.
I wouldn't recommend anyone clicking on the links. If someone is interested then I would recommend checking to see if the link is safe. That can be done by going to URLVoid and typing in the link you want to check.

And rest assured if there is any kind of cheating, the Blingee_Team is on top of it ;-)

Myself i think it might be someone on blingee using these nick to vote for them self,And using the aka nick to do so...You will not see there nick in the list, for they made up the nicks to vote for them self to win.. now i might be wrong,But that my opinion on all the faceless nick on here!

Thank you Guardian and to all those ppl who have responded on the thread, I have watched every day since putting up my original post and this person has continued to fill up over 150 pages of faceless profiles every single day. including today.

I am relieved that others share my concerns about it.

Personally, I don’t think it’s for advertising purposes as I have looked at several of the profiles and see nothing related to advertisements. or links on the profiles, they have nothing on their profiles except one blingee badge for creating a profile and the profiles are all set to private.

I agree with angelll2, I believe the sole purpose of this un mass profile manufacturing has everything to do with thwarting the voting process in the competitions, possibly a group who votes up different members each week to win.

I became suspicious after observing winning entries in the red carpet, many of which were way below the standard of other works entered into the Competition.

If I am right, it is sad to see peoples work being bombed with losing votes to wipe their works chances out of the Competitions in a single day, therefore taking the wins off quality works that are much worthier and deserving of the win.

I also base my suspicion on the way in one day much better works are targeted with losing votes and have watched them go down over 100 votes in a day.

I really do think the voting process of the Competition needs to be looked at very closely.

The best thing I can tell you is that if any of you catch these accounts in any suspicious activity, report it immediately. If we all work together as a community, we can finally put an end to any kind of cheating.

The Blingee_Team has been deleting any suspicious accounts. Unfortunately, as soon as they implement some sort of security feature, there is always someone around the corner to buck the system. It's no different than what a lot of sites have to do. A good and reputable site will always do their utmost best to keep the users happy and keep their information secure. However, as most of us know, no matter how hard you try, there is always going to be someone trying to beat the system.

So let's work together as a rockin' Blingee community ;-)

Yes Gaurdian, we must all work together to stop the cheating and multiple votings if it is going on, it will be the only way to eliminate it.
I did not come accross any advertising on the 20 to 30 I checked, however my friend BBB has found some, one looks like its in arabic, the other is advertising betting, alarmingly also talks about a serial killer targeting Casinos.

The other one appears to advertise Garcinia Cambogia which I think is some sort of scam dieting product being offered by a place called JavaFit.

These are the only ones I have seen that have advertising on them, all I looked at were private profiles.

Possiably someone has set up a bot, but sorry I don't get their purpose, no one would just go to their profiles and read their advertisments, when they don't make any works?

Do you really think that someone would go to such great lengths just to win a competition? To what end? There's no prize, no financial incentive...sure, it's fun to win, but to do it by creating such a massive surplus of identities? It's very hard to believe; Guardian06's theory seems much more plausible! Of course, if cheating is going on, I stand behind your desire to end it! Please let me know whatever you find out! Thanks and good luck!

Oh, my goodness. I wish you hadn't told me about this. I'm such a worrier & conspiracy theorist! I have good security on my pc that won't let me see some peoples Blingees sometimes!! I've never accepted people without faces or references as I'm a reserved till I know you type of person.

I was under the impression Blingee could BLOCK people from their services. So if the names are reported of these faceless accounts to the Blingee Team, WHAT seems to be the problem?

I just want to add my two-cents to the faceless profiles issue. As far as the BT blocking the ip addresses, if these people/person are at all computer savvy, then that will do NO good. As I know from my Blingee Stalker (She has been banned from Blingee, but continues to come back with new profiles every time she reveals herself and gets blocked again) it takes no time at all for them to keep changing their ip address once one is blocked. Of course, the BT MUST look up the ip addresses and TRY blocking them, but I wouldn't count on it fixing the problem.
Now, as far as it being used to alter the outcome of our comps, I don't know that it makes sense when you really think about it. I mean, one person can only physically vote so much, regardless of the number of accounts they have. They don't need multiple accounts to vote over and over again, down-voting the best and up-voting their own and their friends' blingees. That has been happening forever anyway. In my opinion, that problem is only a little more obvious now because there are so few people who vote in the comps any more. When you get the younger ones, or newer ones spending most of the time voting, they are the ones who ultimately end up determining the winners. That is why I, personally, think that we should ALL commit to spending SOME time voting in the comps we enter, and not even look at whose blingee it is. (that's what I do-and I have told the blingee team long ago that I don't think they should have the artists name under the blingee. We should be voting blindly, as we do when they pop up while we are waiting for our blingees to process). Anyway, we should ALWAYS be voting for the BEST blingee, regardless of who made it. That is the only way we will see the best blingees win the comps.

I also don't think it makes sense that someone is using multiple accounts to give themselves more stars, simply because you can't re-vote on the same blingees no matter how many accounts you have. Unless I am completely unaware of a way around the current procedures set up, which is very possible. I am only speaking regarding rating up a person's blingees. In other words, I have a regular acct and one just for my Goth works. If I am signed into my regular acct and give a blingee 5*s, and then go sign into my goth acct, it won't let me rate that same blingee again. I assume because it detects my ip address. As far as a single person or two opening all of those accts for the purpose of our comps, why would they need multiple accounts? They could do the same thing by just voting from a single account, couldn't they?
Also, think about it, you need a separate email acct for each blingee acct that you create. Who is going to spend all of that time creating new email accounts, and signing up for new blingee accounts, for the soul purpose of winning a comp with no cash prize, or up-voting their blingees? It just doesn't make sense to me.
