Danny Wells, an actor with dozens of TV credits dating back to “Love, American Style” but best known for playing Luigi on “The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!,” died Nov. 28 in Toronto. He was 72.~ He played the video game character Luigi, brother of Nintendo's mascot Mario, in the live-action segments of the short lived series The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! which was a show made based upon the classic Nintendo hit Super Mario Bros. games. In addition, he also provided the voice for his character's animated counterpart in the animated segments of the series.The actor was born Jack Westelman in Montreal.
