Happy May Birthday by Joyful226/Connie
Wishing you a very Happy Birthday. This one is made for the year 2016. In this greeting there are lots of things about your fabulous month in which you were born. The lady is playing your song. “Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday God bless you, Happy Birthday to you.” Your birthstone is the Emerald found in several places in this creation. You Birthday Poem is called the Emerald: “Who first beholds the light of day In spring’s sweet, flower month of May And wears an Emerald bright and gay Shall be loved in every way.” For those who were born in the month of May the Emerald is the traditional birthstone. The May birthstone poem reflects some of the properties with which the Emerald is associated – loyalty, faithfulness and friendship. The Traditional Metaphysical Properties for the May Birthstone Emerald are memory, clairvoyance and faith. The healing properties of the May birthstone are reputed to be effective for health problems relating to the eyes, fertility, the spine and headaches. The Emerald is also used to enhance mental capabilities….. Spring is a time of new growth and rebirth. And the intense brilliant green of the Emerald, May’s birthstone, is as refreshing to the eyes as a spring garden is after a rain. Within its depths are often tiny fractures or inclusions, which the French call “jardin,” or garden, because of their resemblance to foliage. The Egyptians were known to engrave Emeralds with the symbol for foliage to represent eternal youth, and to bury these jewels with their dead. In the Bible the Emerald was one of the 12 jewels on the Breastplate of the Jewish High Priest representing the 12 tribes of Israel. The Emerald is also mentioned twice in Ezekiel and twice in Revelation… One of your birth flowers not the best known but a great flower is the Hawthorn also known as the “Mayflower” which is from the Rose Family. This is an amazing plant. Below is a little information about this wonderful flower to find out more please google there are pages and pages about it. It took a great deal of editing to cut it down to size. I hope you enjoy it. The Hawthorn is extremely good for you and that has also been scientifically proven. It is an amazing herb! Although it all comes from this most amazing tree. Medicinal properties: The flowers, leaves and fruits of the Hawthorn have properties that reduce blood pressure and stimulate the heart, as well as act as a mild sedative. … In herbal medicine they treat heart and circulatory disorders, migraine, menopausal conditions, angina, and insomnia and anxiety The flowers are strongest as sedatives, using them externally can treat acne and skin blemishes. The berries (also known as “Pixie Pears”) contain Vitamin B complex and Vitamin C. They can be crushed and used to ease diarrhea, dysentery, and kidney disorders. This is only a small sampling of what it does and is known to do for health amazing….. Magical qualities …. Hawthorn The tree essence cleanses the heart of negativity and stimulates love and forgiveness. The Hawthorne’s essence represents the energy of cleansing and preparation. It clears the mind of negative thoughts and mental confusion, offering clarity. It gives patience and offers stillness in the spirit. More Interesting Information about the Hawthorn…. The best-known of the Renaissance herbalists, called the hawthorn, white thorn, or hawthorn tree. The latter two, and the name “May-Bush,” are still common in England. The original May Poles were made out of Hawthorn In England, the hawthorn tree is known as the "Mayflower" tree in honor of the month during which it blooms. Symbolizing hope, it was the name the Pilgrims took for their famous ship, “The Mayflower” when they came to the new world. … The Hawthorn is the tree most representatives of the struggles the Christians had over Paganism. Its beautiful flowers are said to help prayers reach heaven…. In France it is called (the noble thorn) because it was said to be used for Christ’s crown of thorns. This twiggy thorny tree, with its white-stalked flowers some with red anthers,( a male flower part forming the top part of a stamen and bearing the pollen in sacs )also advises caution.. Christ’s crown of thorns was said to be made of Hawthorn and, the flower being the color of blood with the anthers and white bandages as the flowers petals …. The Hawthorn can be woven in to a growing fence called a Hedgerow. These thorny barriers are very effective and have saved many villages from thieves and highwaymen…. It is said not to bring it in the house as a cutting because someone will die other versions say your mother will die. Whatever it is believe the reason back of this death thing is when things were not explained well is. The fact is it smells like dead human flesh, now get this, it has been scientifically proven it has the exact same properties of decaying human flesh no wonder it smells like it. How does a plant do that? It also is said by some the reason that it helps the heart so much is that is has the same rhythm as the human heart. Don’t ask me how “they” know all this but take it for what it is worth, but is a fact it is amazing what it does for your cardiovascular system and that has been proven scientifically ……. Symbolism of the effects of Hawthorn: on the heart, It opens the heart to spiritual growth and love Often referred to as the “Thorn”.as in “Oak, Ash and Thorn”, a particularly potent combination of trees if found growing together. Often it is said to be the haunts of fairies and enchantments. There is tons of information about the Hawthorn tree and its amazing properties. To find out a oodles and oodles more about this amazing plant just Google Hawthorn way too much to put in here. I just scratched the surface of it here… The other and best known Birth flower of May although not sure why it is, It seems like the Hawthorn would be the best one for the months birth flower as it is often known as the Mayflower but so be it, thus the most well known flower for the month is the” Lily of the Valley”. A Christian legend of the Lily of the Valley is that it was formed from the tears of Mary as she wept at the crucifixion of Jesus. However unlike the Hawthorn which is very good for you in so many ways The Lily of the Valley is very poisonous all parts causing cardiac arrest. Not so good. However unlike the Hawthorn flower, the Lily of the Valley had a wonderfully delightful fragrance. Just never ingest any part of it. The Lily of the Valley has the flower meaning of humility, chastity, sweetness, purity and is said to bring luck in love. It also means “the return of happiness” which is the reason why it is often used as decorations in weddings. Lily of the valley usually blooms in the month of May it is also sometimes called the May lily. ….. Other things about this greeting of your fabulous month the, Merry Month of May. May 1 is May Day as seen with little girl holding out flowers in the upper right hand. You can use any container and put some flowers it in and then go to a friends or neighbors door put the flowers down, ring their door bell, or knock on their door, then run and hide. The idea is that they don’t see you, however: if they do then they ask you to come in and sit down and talk for a while. May 5: Is National Day of Prayer. In the USA always the first Thursday in May shown by the praying hands on left hand side of greeting National Day of Prayer is an annual holiday that serves to encourage Americans to pray, meditate and repent. It is also used to draw awareness that we as a nation rely on God. The origins of National Day of Prayer date back to 1787, when Benjamin Franklin asked President George Washington to open each day with prayer, and to realize that prayer is deeply intertwined in the fabric of the United States. However, it was not until February 1952 during the Korean War that Reverend Billy Graham petitioned support of Representative Percy Priest to observe a national day of prayer. On April 17, 1952 President Harry Truman signed a bill proclaiming National Day of Prayer, to encourage Americans to turn to God in prayer and meditation. National Prayer Day is celebrated every year on the first Thursday of May. May 8 Sunday, is Mother’s Day where Mothers are honored shown below the praying hands with mother and child. Usually children wear a flower in honor of their mother. A red flower usually carnation can be a rose, is the color one uses to show Mother is alive.. it can also be a pink one. However a white carnation or white flower shows she is gone and one remembers her and honors her even though she is not here anymore. ….. … This year Memorial Day is on traditional Memorial Day May 30th in the United States it used to be called Decoration Day starting in 1868 three years after the Civil War it was started in honor of the GAR (The Grand Army of the Republic) to decorate with flowers all graves of those who fought for north and south alike, that died in the American Civil War. Did you know that both north and south soldiers are buried in Arlington National Cemetery? Later the name was changed to Memorial Day to honor all that died in all wars. It was always celebrated on May 30th until 1971 when congress wanted a longer holiday and changed it to the last Monday in May. This is found near the lower right hand corner of this greeting with Flag and the Eagle for Memorial Day. Many observances are also given on this day. Also numerous, businesses like activity parks and swimming pools etc. Open for the summer season on this day. ….. Of Course there has to be a birthday cake, in this greeting it is in the lower left hand corner and of course it has a candle waiting to be blown out and wish made. No birthday is complete without ice cream I made for you a triple decker complete with a cherry on top and on the sides too, (It really is from a painting I created years ago I just cut it out and created a stamp out of it) Wishing you a very Happy and Blessed Birthday with only Good things coming your way and Lots of goodies too :). Love to all by Connie Hull
