I love you, but you're not mine

I miss you dearly I’ve never felt pain so severely Drowning in your love is a death more beautiful than a life without it I still read the notes you wrote me I used to read them and feel like I was floating in the air with the clouds Now I read them with tears crashing down my face Everything that I used to fear doesn’t seem to compare The damage that I’ve caused will never be repaired As time grows by the loneliness grows stronger everyday Even these words that I write couldn’t show you how much I miss you I miss the presence of you in my life I was so foolish to have taken it for granted I think of you during every passing moment I try to smile but that’s so hard to do Even though there’s nothing inside my heart I feel the empty space that you used to fill Everytime I see the smile on your face I remember when I used to be the reason Now I’m left here all alone with the lesion that I’ve been cursed with I’m a broken mirror, tiny pieces too sharp and too little to put back together My heart is broken, yet I can love you with all of the pieces I can’t let you go, I’m still holding on to you by a thin thin thread I’m always going to wait for you because I don’t want anyone else I’ve found there’s no escape from your trap of love All around me I look and you’re all that I see All it took was one word and you stole my heart I’ve learned how absurd love is A life once so cheerful, now turned upside down This world is spinning all around me You still hold the key to my heart I’ll always be here on my knees waiting for you But until then I only hold these memories of us so dear to me
