The Flight into Egypt by Joyful226

Matthew 2:13 "And when they[The wise men] were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying Arise, and take the Young Child and His mother, and flee into Egypt and be thou there until I bring thee word for Herod will seek the Young Child to destroy Him. 14, When he arose, he took the Young Child and His mother by night and departed into Egypt. 15 And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called My Son. " From Bethlehem to Egypt is about 261 miles Thus it would have taken them a few days to make it there..God would have had to protect them because they would not be able to travel in a caravan as was the usual case for protection, because of the fact they had to flee unnoticed, and leave right now. Likely they had a donkey for Mary and the baby to ride on but not much else and few things and most certianly the gifts they had just been given. What faith and total trust Joseph and Mary had in God the Father. I am sure He had a place all planed for them to live as well when they got there. When He calls us God has it all figure out we only have to be willing to follow His call wherever it might lead. He will take care of us and be with this through it all.. Connie
